Slipped in this Quick Read this afternoon, as my final read of 2024. Not read Jo Nesbo before, but on the strength of this, I will read more. This 90-page short story fooled me - I thought I‘d seen the twist coming but then bam! - Nesbo hit me with one I didn‘t see coming at all.

These Reading Agency Quick Reads, aimed at non-readers as an introduction to reading, are great for established readers to find new-to-them authors too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Best short story collection I‘ve read in a long time! The book is over 500 pages long and I found every single story riveting! Nesbo is one of the best mystery/suspense writers around. If you‘ve never read him, I highly recommend you try.

I have historically struggled with short stories. I often feel that they are missing something or end in a way that leaves a lot to be desired.

That was NOT the case with this collection. I loved every one of these stories. Gritty, dark at times, and thrilling. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I thought this was great. It's super dark which is what you would expect from this author. It's short stories and my advice would be to read them one at a time, rather than reading this straight through.
