Studying for my 🇨🇦 citizenship test. This book seemed like a good place to start for a timeline overview.
Lots of typos, most of which are incorrect dates. So the Hudson Bay Company didn‘t receive a royal charter in 1970, probably 1670, but who‘s counting?😂
Tamra If it‘s similar in Canada to the U.S., you will know more about Canada than natives do. 😆 I ask my students (post secondary)to peruse the US Citizenship test and most doubt they could pass without study. (edited) 1w
Jari-chan Same here in Switzerland. And apparently in Denmark as well 😁 1w
Dilara And France 😑 Other half had to take it - and the language test as well (thank you Brexit!) 1w

DogMomIrene @Tamra @Jari-chan @Dilara I haven‘t done a deep dive into this test. But I think it‘s 25 mc questions with 8-9 being super simple, and the rest easy enough to use process of elimination to a passing score. I‘m studying more so I learn more about my new chosen country. 1w
DogMomIrene @Tamra I taught US Government to 7th graders, and they were usually impressed with how difficult the citizen test was. My favorite lessons were about the Electoral College, especially if the kids figured out how to “break it” during a simulation. No one candidate got to 270? 😲🤯 1w
LiseWorks Good luck! I believe if a Canadian took this test, they would fail it. 1w
DogMomIrene @LiseWorks Thanks! I‘m focusing on history right now because my knowledge is US-centered. I‘ve got a few test prep books, so I‘ll get to those too. I really haven‘t looked at what the test covers🤷🏻♀️ 1w
