Pickpick

To me, this iteration of SUPERMAN (late ‘80‘s) by the great John Byrne and Jerry Ordway, is the sweet spot for the character. Bright and colorful, yet shedding the ridiculous fringes of the Golden and Silver eras. There are still zany plots and characters, but with just enough pathos to be taken seriously. Fun, with a hint of realism, is just the right flavor of the Son of Krypton for my tastes.

This brings back great memories. 😊 My dad as a mural and landscape painter, did a wall painting of this illustration in my room for me, around 1994 where I grew up in Toronto. - He also went on to paint The Hulk for my cousin, smashing bricks through the wall.

I remember getting these 6 comics and tapes as a kid, pretty much bought by my dad and rationed out as house chores allowance 😂 he eventually got the idea of hole-punching them to put in a binder, which only risked more damage. It's a shame that not all the audio covers were kept well, but for the most part, they're all back together.
