Sometimes you head into an indie bookstore wanting to find something just to support the store. That‘s how I ended up with this, and it couldn‘t have been more perfect. This book is a love letter to bookstores (even the authors say so) and a romance that‘s not scared to poke fun at the genre. Loved that the male lead owns the romance-only shop and his least favorite trope is enemies to lovers (the title alone tells you where this is going). Cute!
Picked this one up today! I'm laughing at the Abby Jimenez references since I literally just finished her book.
I can‘t resist a book about books - supposedly a modern twist of You‘ve Got Mail, I loved all the book references and since this is the summer where I read an unusually ( for me) large amount of romance I got a kick out of knowing some of the romance tropes talked about. An easy fun read
I loved this book so much!! I couldn't put it down. The love story was great and the love of books was palpable!! Such a great read!!
Modern day 'You've Got Mail' vibes but when the guy manages a romance bookstore and she manages a literary fiction bookstore and they are competing for a management position when they are forced to merge.
Romance between two competing booksellers? Sign me up. It was a good enemies to lovers with glimpses into the writing of the genre itself. It was very entertaining, and my husband caught me smiling a couple of times as I was reading it. So that's likely a better endorsement than all these extra words.
5 stars! I LOVED this book! I flew through it in a couple of days! This was the 1st romance I read in a long time & it was so good! I loved all of the info about the indie bookstores & what it‘s like to manage & work at one. I really cared about the characters! I would read this one again! I‘m excited to read the author‘s other books!
