Have you seen Ann Pratchett's response to David Brook's editorial about current literary fiction? Apparently, it doesn't add anything to today's world? I read the article. He says, "I am saying that literature plays a much smaller role in our national life and that this has a dehumanizing effect on our culture." She gives it to him with outstanding examples.
