There‘s a few tragic events in here. It‘s short but it still felt like many things could have been taken out and the narrative would have remained the same.

Been reading this evening. It‘s somewhat interesting, but not enough for me.🥱 But will continue to read for now.

This book is a testament to the importance of investigative journalism.
Everything I‘m compelled to type next is about pundits (with a specific agenda regardless of truth) posing as journalists. - and that‘s not what this book is about. It‘s just that it took me to present day. As we strip the freedom of those who seek truth and justice our prisons will contain even more people wrongly convicted.

In 1984, a white man went to a church at night during a bible study and murdered the black deacon and his wife in cold blood. The police, insisting it wasn‘t racially motivated, proceeded to not solve the case. This book follows the situation until the current moment, showing how poorly our “justice” system can work. It‘s very well written.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Surprisingly, I have never heard of this true crime case before. This was heartbreaking for many families but hopefully they are finally getting it right after too many years of pain and suffering.😢
And yes we about to get hit with a storm😱

August #botm are here! I picked three - a true crime, a YA fantasy, and a thriller.😍
