The #1 bestselling author of The Collectors and Simple Genius returns with STONE COLD...an unforgetable novel of revenge, conspiracy, and murder that brings a band of unlikely heroes face-to-face with their greatest threat.Oliver Stone, the leader of the mysterious group that calls itself the Camel Club, is both feared and respected by those who've crossed his path. Keeping a vigilant watch over our leaders in Washington, D.C., the Camel Club has won over some allies, but it has also earned formidable enemies-including those in power who will do anything to prevent Stone and his friends from uncovering the hidden, secret work of the government.Annabelle Conroy, an honorary member of the Camel Club, is also the greatest con artist of her generation. She has swindled forty million dollars from casino king Jerry Bagger, the man who murdered her mother. Now he's hot on her trail with only one goal in mind: Annabelle's death. But as Stone and the Camel Club circle the wagons to protect Annabelle, a new opponent, who makes Bagger's menace pale by comparison, suddenly arises. One by one, men from Stone's shadowy past are turning up dead. Behind this slaughter stands one man: Harry Finn. To almost all who know him, Finn is a doting father and loving husband who uses his skills behind the scenes to keep our nation safe. But the other face of Harry Finn is that of an unstoppable killer who inevitably sets his lethal bull's-eye on Oliver Stone. And with Finn, Stone may well have met his match. As Annabelle and the Camel Club fight for their lives, the twists and turns whipsaw, leading to a finale that is as explosive as it is shattering. And when buried secrets are at last violently resurrected, the members of the Camel Club left standing will be changed forever. With unrelenting pacing, stunning reversals, and two of the most compelling characters in modern fiction, STONE COLD is David Baldacci writing at his breathtaking best.

Oliver Stone & Camel Club are asked to come to the aid of Annabelle Conroy, an honorary member of the club and a con artist. Jerry Bagger was conned by Conroy for $40 million. Men from Stone's past are dying. Harry Finn is the killer and his eyes are now set on Stone. The book is the best of the series so far. Non-stop action and unique characters kept the pages turning. I'm now looking forward to reading the next book in the series. recommended.

BookishMe I am curious how you organise or plan the various group reads ;)) 5y

Andrew65 @BookishMe As a small group on Librarything we have chosen collectively some. Mystery and Suspense series to read, along with a few standalones, and then work through them. We read two - three each month, and split them into 5 - 6 sections, with questions posted daily. I tend to be the one who generate the questions depending on what questions come into my head as I read the books. This is the list for this year. 👇 5y

Andrew65 @EadieB Yes and great to be back with this series. 5y
EadieB @Andrew65 I like that we are reading them close together as then less likely to forget what happened in the last book. 5y
Andrew65 @EadieB Yes that definitely helps. 5y
BookishMe @Andrew65 thank you for the link. I think I hadn't made myself clear ;)) how do you keep track of your own reading with the different group reads? Do you use a planner or just able to speed read one book at a time? 😉 😉 5y
BookishMe I was reading plenty of mystery and crime fiction recently so will definitely check that group of readers! ;D 5y
BookishMe Variety of titles are fascinating!! 5y
Andrew65 @BookishMe I use the Leio App to keep track of my reading. http://leio.co I quite often have 2 or 3 books in the go. Currently : Audiobook : The Summer Before the War, E-books : Night Prey and the Group Read : Stone Cold. Usually can chop and change between books but if one really grips me I will try to focus on that one. Generally able to hold the books in my head. On average the App tells me I am reading 50 pages an hour but depending on the 👇 5y
Andrew65 @BookishMe book it can range from 40 - 60 pages an hour. Hope this helps but if any more questions do ask. 5y
Andrew65 @BookishMe Yes we do read a good range of books. As a group the main contributors have stayed together through Shelfari, Leafmarks and Librarything. They have kept closing down sites around us. 5y
BookishMe Group that reads together, firmly stays together ;D app sounds interesting. Thanks again for sharing. 5y
Andrew65 @BookishMe Anytime 😊 5y
