Now that Sei has been transferred to the third troop under his command, Saito grows increasingly suspicious of Sei’s true identity. He is visited by dreams of his old friend, Sei’s brother, Yuma. The memories of Yuma’s words gradually grow more vivid, and Saito finally realizes Sei’s secret. Feeling he must protect her, Saito confronts Soji with an ultimatum: expose Sei to Hijitaka and have her dismissed from the troop, or allow Saito to take her as his bride. -- VIZ Media

I've nearly met my reading goal for 2016, but more importantly, I'm nearly caught up with all the avaible English editions of Kaze Hikaru, and honestly? I'm Not Ok. I'm feeling distraught. Sure I can read the "scanlations" online - that's always an option. But I really don't like doing it. It feels like cheating. The problem is that though this series has been under US license since 2006, it's not popular. So new volumes come out once a YEAR.

LuLeeBelle (cont'd) Initially, they were being released more requently. I remember it being one of the first titles Shojo Beat released. I think it's not as popular because the main heroine has a bald head and isn't "cute." That would be an under statement. If you like reading manga, please consider this series! It's wonderful 8y
Serotonin No!!! I hate that! Just pray that the title doesn't get dropped, which has happened to me many many times 😢😢😢😡😱 8y
LuLeeBelle @Serotonin I don't know if I could recover if that happened! Then I would definately resort to Scanlations. It's still really popular in Japan (thank goodness) and since it's based on historic fact, I could always research on my own 😢 8y
Serotonin @LuLeeBelle Yeah. On rare instances, if the demand is high then another publisher will pick up the title to either continue the series and re-run the series from beginning. 8y
LuLeeBelle @Serotonin I think I've seen that a few times before, but with really popular titles. KH isn't on that level here, unfortionately. And any emails I've sent to Shojo Beat has kinda been met with a cold sholder 😒 8y

It's VERY surreal finding an actual photograph of a beloved semi-fictional (???) character. #okitasouji #shinsengumi

Though I'm less than halfway caught up with this long #shojo #manga series, I'm Totally in love with it. It's heart-breaking, it's hilarious, it's inspired by historical fact and well researched!
I guess the only suitable blurb I can come up with is... "I'M SUFFERING!! YOU DON'T KNOW HOW I SUFFER SO!!" ???
Have a napkin ready, you WILL cry
