I love the writing of Allen Eskens

A good read about publishing through the POV of Nora, a young wannabe editor who finds herself in a slump. I enjoyed her mental health acknowledgement but wish she would‘ve had her bootstrap moment much sooner. The end of the back came on fast and felt rushed. Book #63 in 2025

I was thinking this was going to be akin to Madeline Miller‘s style of Greek myth retelling, but it was an analytical history lesson about women getting the shaft while their male peers are glorified over and over for the same or worse behaviors. A fascinating, scholarly, and at times comedic look at 10 women who deserve another portrayal than what history gave them. Book #63 in 2024

A fun mystery, but *trigger warning* a young child is kidnapped. This is a multi-POV thriller and fortunately one POV is the child, so just know he will be okay. There were so many POVs that switched often and a very convoluted plot. Definitely an interesting but altogether easy read if you keep an open mind and blindly follow crazytown. Book #63 in 2023

There are a few genuine surprises throughout this one. Also notable is the theme of survival: when given the choice, who do you save? The storyline may be a teensy bit contrived, but it's worth it for the entertainment factor.
