Day 21 #ATopicI'dLikeToKnowMoreAbout #ReadJanuary We never learned much about either WWI or WWII in school. I've picked up some. It would like to learn more, although not from a dry history book. In BlackOut/All Clear, The time travellers go back to the London Blitz. Very interesting.
bookishkai I love these books! I wish I could read them for the first time again. 8y
Cydster61 It can be a bit of a slog but I recommend The Children's Book by A. S. Byatt which is not strictly speaking about World War I but about the generation that fought it. I also recommend To End All Wars by Adam Hochschild which is a social history of WW I and not dry. 8y
Tanner @bookishkris Me too! I cried at the end of All Clear. 8y
Tanner @Cydster61 I've read The Children's Book (and yes, it was a bit of a slog), but will check into To End All Wars. Thanks for the recs! 8y
