“‘The Book‘... is rectangular because cows, goats, and sheep are rectangular too.” I love this quote from p331 of ‘The Book‘ by Keith Houston. A very enjoyable read that brought back some of the information I learned in my Graphic Communications courses.

Tanner @intothehallofbooks It‘s such a well-done book. I think I heard about it on one of the Book Riot podcasts so looked for it in the bookstore. When I saw it, I knew I had to have it. 😀 11mo

Went to an author event this evening, Kate Atkinson in Conversation. Thoroughly enjoyed it - what a smart, funny woman. And not only did she sign the new one for me, but she also signed the other two I brought. Mikey-Cat was really enjoying the soft-touch lamination on the dustjacket of the new one, but is wondering about the significance of the flamingo.

I FINALLY got to check out this place, Famous Last Words in Toronto. It‘s a bar that looks like my dream library (except I‘m sorry, I could not ever sort my books by colour). Reading their menu is a riot. They play music on a record player. My cocktail was the Princess Bride, and I got to sit and read and not be disturbed. Excellent!

britt_brooke Looks amazing - enjoy! Although pretty, I couldn‘t sort my books by color either. 2y

Tanner @Crystalblu I‘m ashamed to say I don‘t remember. But it tasted sweet and refreshing at the same time. I could easily have had another, but it was pretty potent (for me, anyway). 2y
