pickI have to reread this book, to see if the plot hatched by the conspirators really needs to be so elaborate. The book it actually makes me want to reread, though, is Wilkie Collins‘s #Armadale. Fingersmith‘s Gentleman strikes me as the approximate male equivalent of Lydia Gwilt.
