I‘ve been working on reading this one for a week. To be honest in the beginning it wasn‘t speaking to me. But, I kept with it and my patience paid off. This book is loosely based on her grandfather who was a night watchman. It is part of my #AwardWinningReads. This author has a very lyrical way of writing which to be honest is why I kept with it.

I read this book years ago when I was a little girl. I even remember the summer I went to the library to check it out. I chose to read this instead of going swimming. I‘m all about the water so if I‘m not in a pool or ocean I must be swept up with the story. It still all these years later spoke to me and I enjoyed every page. #AwardWinningReads
