Dog Road Woman: Poems | Allison Hedge Coke
post image

Some of my favorite poetry collections, minus Maya Angelou, Margaret Atwood, & Sylvia Plath. They must be in storage. Also I need to own Citizen already.

Dog Road Woman is my favorite of these. (It's signed! 😀) Allison Adelle Hedge Coke, who writes poetry about mixed-blood Native life, including racism, womanhood, colonialism, domestic violence, and diaspora. It's powerful stuff. Lots of her poetry and essays are available online as well. ✍🏾

SoniaC Great selection. I have For colored girls and really loved it. 8y

BookishFeminist @SoniaC Me too- I keep hoping I will run across a performance of it somewhere. One of these days! 8y
