Pickpick

What a madcap tale! It feels like it has a cast of thousands and we all tumbled through the story together in a bit of blur - as a misunderstanding by the Governor balloons into a potential international incident as various government branches try to save face by inventing intelligence, which quickly spirals out of control… all this set against the looming independence of Nwkwami from British rule.

thegirlwiththelibrarybag This book is out of print, and the few copies available for purchase were priced at eye watering levels. Happily, I was able to read a copy via the internet archive. 2mo

I love Howl's Moving Castle, I've been meaning to reread it again. I've never read the second one even though I have this double volume.

Mehso-so

I didn't set up a bookspin for December so am reusing my November stack. This is the third volume of chrestomanci books, with two books per volume. The two in this volume were so-so, definitely my least favorite of the collection. Glad i read them though as I really wanted to know the full story of this world. The other two volumes are must reads if you like magical ya

@TheAromaofBooks #bookspin #december

HeyT I really liked those two but I read the series in a different order. I read Conrad's Fate directly after lives of Christopher Chant and then put Pinhoe egg at the back of Magicians of Caprona. 4y

Bailedbailed

this is the third time I am trying this as an audiobook and not making it through. This time I have made it 40% through (better than the last 2 attempts) and it is still not clicking so I think I am going to bail on this for good.
Perhaps the book does not lend itself to the audio format. It seems to be a bit too much of a hodge podge for me to be invested in it - characters or plot.

Pickpick

Kicked off #MarchMagics / #DWJMarch with HEXWOOD, one of my few remaining unread DWJs. (I might just have 3 left now.) This story was great and the advice from others to not expect to follow it all the first time kept me to a pace where I actually did follow it (except for a little bit at the end). Now if I could finally wrap my head around Fire and Hemlock!
