TODAY‘S PROMPT: HAMMOCK
The writing and story line made me want to jump into the pages and to be at the cottage so I could be part of the love and warmth the characters had for each other, the cozy feel of the small town, and the love Adie Lou had for THE SUMMER COTTAGE.

pickAnother year passes in Thrush Green. The big changes I was expecting didn't happen but there were some surprises with old cast members returning and new cast members being added.
pickLife goes on as charmingly as ever in Thrush Green. Modern life inserts itself with the temporary presence of four members of a rock band, two of whom use drugs, but we only hear about it 2nd or 3rd hand. Major changes are ahead though, with two characters talking about retirement and another no longer able to take care of herself.
pickI love this place and these characters. Thankfully, I still have a few other Hilderbrand books to read. I also read this on the beach in St. John & loved that small parts of this book were set there.

panI assume this book is a metaphor for domestic abuse? If I look at it through that lens I like it ok. If not, then I really didn‘t. Characters are irritating, whole story line is boring, nobody evolves. I wish the bear was interesting in some way. If you don‘t want to read it, the mom dies and the sister gets eaten by the bear 🤷♀️. To be honest, I legit lol‘d at that second one 😆
pickI was so bummed to not finish this in time during #CampLitsy and therefore was thrilled to see it on @monalyisha‘s #AuldLangSpine list; will now have to go back and read the discussion that I missed! I found this very emotionally engaging, and the writing had me vividly picturing characters, setting, and scenes throughout. Have the film rights to this been purchased? 🤔 Would be great on screen.
