Kaye Dolly, you should have seen me about 20 years ago. The whole family were on computers. My husband repairs computers as a side hobby, the teens were all in them. I was the last holdout. I kept saying I had no interest in it, but once I found AOL BOOKGROUPS , I was hooked. I used to lead a group way back then. It was so fun. Now, you‘d have to pry my iPad out if my dead cold hands. I bet I use it about 18 hours a day. (edited) 6y

Dolly @Kaye LOL , I remember hearing decades ago that eventually every home would have a computer, and I said WHY? Life was so different then. Now stuck at home 24/7 caring for my 98 yr old Mom, my iPad is my link to the outside world, my teacher and my entertainment. I would also be lost without it. Are there still AOL groups? 6y

Kaye Not that I know of. They had a really nice book area back then but that was in the 90s. I‘m glad you have some contact like this. It can be challenging if you are helping to care for a home bound relative. I hope you get opportunities to get out a bit once in awhile. It helps to rejuvenate you. 6y

Dolly @Kaye Not nearly enough, I know it‘s important but the cost of replacing me is prohibitive. I do enjoy being home 😁 6y

Kaye Yes, I don‘t mind being home a lot myself, although I try to get out a bit each day if it‘s only to run downtown. Do they have any sort of visiting nurse type service that could come maybe once a week to give you an hour or two off ? I wish I lived close to you. I could come do it. (edited) 6y

Dolly @Kaye you are so sweet💖 I do get out for a few minutes a day and I hire out 2-3 hrs one day a week. No replacements are free and costs start at $14 an hr. I get $2 hr. stipend, sooooo. 6y

Bklover @dolly @Kaye It really is wonderful! I am on my iPad or iPhone pretty much all the time! My youngest is a teenager and I think I outdo her sometimes! I‘m home a lot too(by choice) and I can‘t imagine life without Litsy! 6y

Kaye @Bklover @dolly. Yes, Litsy has been great. I don‘t like groups with lots of drama or people arguing and such. It‘s nice in here. Everyone is friendly and focuses a lot on books. I like seeing photos of other places and libraries and bookstores. Places I may never get to go myself. 6y

Dolly @Kaye Point well taken. I love seeing everyone‘s photos but Duh, I never even thought about posting my locals. Will post in future. 6y
