I was too busy reading yesterday to post my #JanuaryTBR but here it is... SO MANY carry-overs from Dec, my #FlaviaBuddyRead, my #GirlyBookClub book (plus the first one in that series - who picks the second book in a series for a book club?!), four more books in my never-ending quest to #ReadMyOwnDamnBooks and the book for #ATreeGrowsInBrooklynBuddyRead. So if you‘ll please excuse me, I need to start reading!

Smarkies I am going to try my hardest to read my own books as well. Last year I bought way too many so this year I need to reduce it to a more reasonable level. 😂😂 3w
Prairiegirl_reading My irl book club hates me because I refuse to read a series out of order! Lol! 3w
janeycanuck @Prairiegirl_reading About half of us are reading the first one before we pick up the second one! 3w
janeycanuck @Smarkies I have a very strict 2-out-1-in policy. I‘m currently about 90 books behind on the out side of the equation 🤪 (PS - I see you recently finished the Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie - I‘m hosting a Flavia buddy read this year, one book a month. Care to join?) 3w
Smarkies I think I noted the buddy read in my calendar. Will try to join in! 3w

We had a tonne of fun with our Blind Date book exchange at our December #GirlyBookClub a few weeks ago. The instructions? Bring a wrapped book and add a short, spoiler-free hint. Then, we did a white elephant, keeping the books wrapped until the very end. So much fun with some great titles unwrapped at the end. I came home with the tagged book - the clue was “East meets West and a confusing cup of tea.” So intriguing!!

After a polarizing book in November that several ladies couldn‘t get through, it was nice to have something light and fun for December. This was thoroughly enjoyed by nearly everyone, which sometimes makes for a dull conversation but the ladies in our #GirlyBookClub can make every conversation interesting!

Prairiegirl_reading My library hold just came in and I‘m pretty excited about this one!!! 3w

I‘m dying laughing at this month‘s #GirlyBookClub author chat with Abbi Waxman. She‘s such a delightful lady to listen to - and that‘s her handwriting on Nina‘s planner pages in the book!! What a delightful way to pass this evening - listening to Abbi and working on my puzzle.

Time for a #weeklyforecast - looking forward to spending more time with Päntsdrunk and re-reading The Bookish Life of Nina Hill for #girlybookclub and maybe getting into Sometimes I Lie, if I‘m lucky.

Ahh, December - the month I start off thinking I‘ll have so much time for reading and then hardly finish anything. Well, I‘m not letting that stop my overly ambition #DecemberTBR. Lots leftover from November, four more books in my never ending quest to #ReadMyOwnDamnBooks, my #GirlyBookClub book, the #agathachristieclubr2 book and a couple that I just really want to pick up!

Nute I never get much reading completed once the holidays begin. I just celebrate whatever happens. I like the fact that you remain optimistic!😊 2mo

Mixed reviews from the Guelph chapter of #GirlyBookClub - several women couldn‘t even get through it and for others, it was one of their fav reads this year. The conversation is always more fun when we have such different opinions!

Tamra I enjoyed it! 👍🏾 2mo
janeycanuck @Tamra me too! 2mo
TheEllieMo It‘s in my top 5 of the year 2mo
janeycanuck @TheEllieMo it‘s right up there for me, too. We had two women say it was probably their favourite of the year. 2mo

Panpan

While everyone had bits they didn‘t love about this (little character development, holes in the plot, etc), I was the sole panner at #GirlyBookClub. Can‘t help it a I just don‘t like a ghost story.

TheBookAddict 🤔 I may to read it. I enjoy ghost stories. Sorry you didn‘t like it. 3mo
janeycanuck @TheBookAddict Eh, not every book can be for every reader! 3mo

What a weird day - it felt like 35° with the humidex and it‘s October 1. In Canada. And then it clouded over and the skies opened and we had the loudest thunderstorm we‘ve had in ages. Anyway. Focusing on the weather helps me forget how many books I‘ve got leftover from September - those, my #GirlyBookClub book, my #MummyDaughterBookClub book and four more #readmyowndamnbooks books are my #OctoberTBR.

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks It‘s still high 90‘s here!! 🥵🥵 4mo
janeycanuck @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks whaaaa?? That‘s nuts. The temp has been falling steadily here, we‘re going to get down to 13 today, which is more normal for us. Hope you get some relief soon!! 4mo
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Oh wow!!! Our high today is 96 and low is 70!!! 4mo

A hit with my Guelph #GirlyBookClub crowd. This was such a heartbreaking story. It did take a while to get into but once I did, I couldn‘t stop reading.
