Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I wanted to find an excuse to post a pic of my new favorite beer, but discovered a serious lack in our home library. Welsh and Scottish are represented, but we do not have a single Irish author. How can this be?

So help me out. What Irish and/or Irish American authors and books do you recommend? Genre doesn't matter. Suggest away! Thank you in advance!

PerksOfBeingABookworm John Boyne! His book The Heart‘s Invisible Furies is set in Ireland. And his new book A Ladder to the Sky is really good!
