More entries for my #indexcard collection! This month I somehow managed to read down slightly more books from my shelves than reaching for shiny new 2022 entries. But these cards, they don‘t care where or how I experience a story, and that‘s kind of why I love creating them.

TheAromaofBooks So do you store these in a way that you can find a certain book later? I feel like you said you make some notes about the book on the back of the cards? I just love them!! 2y
Ifftay14 This is such a wonderful idea! A book journal is somehow too overwhelming for me. But index cards on a ring with my books seems doable! 2y

marleed @TheAromaofBooks Yes, at the new year I‘ll sort my 2022 cards in with my previous year‘s cards by author. This year I had to get a 2nd card box (the length of a shoe box). It‘s really easy to pull a card out and read my notes for memory jogging! For the year my 2022 cards are sorted by my star rating so I can easily track my favorite reads for the year! 2y
marleed @Ifftay14 I came up with my index card system because i feared I‘d fall behind then quit on an actual journal too. The cards allow me to keep placeholder penciled in cards if I don‘t have time to color a card out. But this monthly posting is great because it encourages me to sit down, calm down, and color for a bit! 2y
marleed @KristiAhlers Thank you - it‘s great fun. I have a shelf lined ‘reading room, but if I have to give up that space and donate my books I‘ll have these physical reminders of the books I loved and even those I‘ve forgotten! 2y

TheAromaofBooks That's such a great system!!! I use my book blog to help me remember what books I've read and whether I liked them (it's sad how often I'm like... I know I read that, but did I like it?! 😂) but there's always the concern of what if something happens to my blog - so I love your analog system! 2y
