Happy #NationalCrayonDay! My niece and I loved The Day the Crayons Quit and The Day the Crayons Came Home.

Today is National Crayon Day; and Crayola is retiring "Dandelion" from its 24-Color set. There will be an addition to the blue family in May. Can't wait for other Litsyans to reveal more throughout the day. Can't believe I had the nerve to frame this monstrosity. It's my first attempt at adult coloring from a few months ago. Now I have a PrismaColor set; so my projects will come out better. #NationalCrayonDay #Dandelion

Sace No dandelion?😔😢 8y
moranadatter Hooray for new art supplies! Have you tried them out yet? 8y
Lynnsoprano My dad was the color chemist for Crayola when they formulated the original 64 colors. I get depressed every time they retire a color. 8y

rockpools @Lynnsoprano That is spectacularly cool! But sorry about the Dandelion 😕 8y
Donna_sBookMinute Wow. Bet that job made your dad "the MAN" in your young eyes ?? Yes, I can see how you'd be so connected. Great story. 8y
Donna_sBookMinute @Sace and @RachelO -- Yes, it sounded sad when I heard it in the morning news. I tend to use any shade of yellow as a complimentary color. And I'm actually not a fan of blue (the new shade that will be introduced in May) at all. 8y
Donna_sBookMinute 👉🏽 @moranadatter -- Not yet. I was waiting to add some others I found. They can be used wet or dry. Seems I should just dive and work with what I've got. 8y
Lynnsoprano @Donna_sBookMinute Yes, and with all the kids in our neighborhood. They called him Mr. Crayon 8y
