I admit I often pick up buzzy books just to see if they are really as good as the hype. I often find #romcoms cheesy, but I felt that this one was more realistic and natural. I loved the slow burn between January and Gus, the friendship between January and Shadi, Gus‘ insecurities, and the behind-the scenes look at writing and research . From a want to be novelist myself I thought it was fantastic!
