I was surprised it ended without really solving anything. Stone has a new client who won the lotto big time. The client attracts a new girlfriend whose brother is recently released from prison and whose roommate is also out and a hardened criminal. I can‘t say anymore without serious spoilers.
Finished yesterday. I was able to read through faster than most novels. Great characterization and setting. I like how Stone is like a fixer, and his character reminds me a lot of Robert B. Parker's Spenser. I didn't think I'd be back into this genre, or longstanding series in general, but I think I'll like more of these. Genre mood of the year, maybe: 90s/early 2000s private investigator crime. More copies of both authors already secured.

Stone gets tangled up with another woman (who promptly gets murdered). In the meantime, he was appointed as her Executor. Among her assets he discovers a priceless choker with an interesting history and which helps solve her murder mystery.

A fun, fast read. Stone Barrington is pushed into purchasing a British estate when the very ill owner wants to avoid his non-children from inheriting. Shortly after Barrington‘s arrival a neighbor is murdered. Also, his son Peter has ticked off a violent cult. When Peter disappears to England, the cult followers him.

A quick and fun adventure. Stone heads to Italy for a sudden board meeting. The hotel he purchased is burned down, his car gets stolen when he and Heddy head out for a weekend adventure and then Heddy gets kidnapped. An old nemesis has raised his head. Humor is also available.

A lot of action. Stone Barrington interferes with what he believes are cop thugs rousting an innocent man. The incident garners him a new client and ticking off men on the outskirts of the mafia.
