Finished my #aprilbookspin last night. It was a bit heavy, maybe also due to the weird circumstances it was read in. But it was interesting and multifaceted, and I loved how it included studies and examples from all over the continent, not just the most known countries. I felt like I learned just as much about Gabon and Cape Verde as I did about South Africa.

My love for Africa and wildlife comes together in this novella, and once we can visit libraries again I will get the book with the same main character. Alice is researching elephant memory in Botswana. She has a complicated family background and a bad recent experience in a game reserve in SA. This time she takes an ellie baby inside her hut...
