Ms. Khan‘s deep knowledge is again on display as her Detective Esa Khattak guides us through the actions of “those who rose to fill the vacuum of the deposed and despised, of the dialogue between civilizations, of the decades-long struggles for rights and democracy ...” (p. 272)
