pickI‘d never heard of Tia Torres or her tv show Pit Bulls and Parolees before listening to this #audiobook. The author narrates her own work & her larger-than-life personality comes through with as much power as her hyperbolic style. I call this a pick with reservations; it‘s for readers interested in people with strong passions, and, of course, dogs—and don‘t mind hearing animals described in anthropomorphic terms.

wanderinglynn I have seen a couple of episodes of her show. I admire the work she does because both pit bulls and parolees have negative stereotypes. It‘s amazing to see a tough-as-nails, life hardened parolee become big teddy bear with the dog he‘s working with. I‘m also a big fan of the various animal programs in prisons too. #animalsrule 5y
