The facts of American white supremacy with necessary honesty, asking white people to take ownership and work toward doing better. I got the companion journal to allow some thoughtful reflection.

JenniferEgnor This book was life changing for me. Such an important read. 5mo

How to Be an Antiracist | Ibram X. Kendi

“Which is why we must actively antiracist” (last line that got cut off). Ibram X. Kendi posted this the other day & it definitely needs to be repeating. What they are pushing so hard against is why we need to push back harder.

Readergrrl I have been following Dr. Kendi on multiple social media platforms. It makes me sad that admitting to this in some states is enough to get me fired. I‘m so grateful to live in a state where diversity, equity, inclusion, AND access is still valued. 8mo
ncsufoxes @Readergrrl same here. My kids have gone to school in CA, MA, & now MD. All states that continue to teach diversity, equity, & inclusion principles. MD has doubled down & so has our district on promoting these values more than ever. 8mo
Readergrrl @ncsufoxes This makes me so happy to hear. I don‘t understand how our country can head down this path. It is simply insane. 8mo

The subtitle of We Still Here covers the main topics within: pandemic, policing, protest, and possibility. This book was published in 2020 and is organized in interviews format. The chapters Justice for “All” and Whose Violence? were especially powerful.
