Pickpick

Guinn takes a difficult, depressing subject and picks all its pieces apart so it‘s easier to understand. Or at least as much as possible, given the subject. Jim Jones was a megalomaniac who closely controlled the lives of about 1000 people. BarbaraTheBibliophage Here‘s the podcast: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/transmissions-from-jonestown/id1308803723?mt... I‘m still trying to get up my courage to listen to Jones‘ “Death Tape,” recorded before and during the suicide. 6y

Cinfhen Well done, Barb 🙌🏻 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen Thanks! It wasn‘t an easy book, that‘s for sure. 6y
BeansPage Oooo 😗 this is on my TBR list!!! 😍 6y

BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft Well, shoot ... I looked at one of their graphics, which doesn‘t mention this fundamental cross-prompt rule. I didn‘t look further, which is where the “by or about women” rule is shown. 😳 (I do have to say that SO many of Jones‘ followers were women, and quite a lot of time is spent on his wife. So maybe I could stretch this. But, most likely, I will pick another book. Thanks, A! 6y
alisiakae Maybe I misunderstood! I thought they had to be by women, not just about. But I was basing that off something someone said in the RWC GR group. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft Here‘s the page with all the prompts. About halfway down is he sentence that says by or about. https://www.readingwomenpodcast.com/reading-women-challenge-2019/ 6y
