This is a story about home and gumption, told in a youthful and casual way. Trigger warning for self harm though. I listened to the audio read by the author. (picture from a CNN interview when she first started opening up about these events, prior to writing this book... She explains in the book how writing it came from a desire to tell a more rounded story that she could control.) #borders2017

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I have this one waiting on audiobook for me.... I must get to it this fall! 7y

saresmoore What a gorgeous wood carving! 7y
ReadingEnvy @saresmoore it was a gift from my father in law. ... When you see it with the tree it kinda looks like it says homey but we tried not to say so in his hearing. 7y

An engaging read examining borders from perspectives I had not considered. I'm not sure there is enough of a ramification study here but I will be deep in thought about it for some time. It's a great start to my #borders2017 reading project! As much as Trump gets the border attention, it is definitely not just him with the increased bordering.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Adding to my to read list!! 8y
