A Little Spot of Anxiety is about experiencing anxiety as a child and how it can affect those of all ages. The story gives children strategies that help with understanding emotions and why we struggle from time to time. I think this text would be great to incorporate into the classroom as everyone deals with anxiety to some extent.

A Little SPOT of Anxiety by Diane Alber is a great way to talk about this emotion with children. It is a fiction book. It talks about a grey spot representing anxiety and when the feeling becomes too overwhelming, there is a way to manage it and make it become a little green spot, which represents feeling at peace. It was published in 2019.

May was an extremely busy time so the book topics were a little scattered. This was just fun.

Based on the title it‘s easy to guess that this book is about ways for kids to learn to sit still. It is quite effective and the illustrations are nice. I think the book is overlong, and that too many ants in the pants scenarios are given, but the advice on how to combat these ants was nice and will be effective for many.

Traci1 I need this one for my 5 year old, who never stops moving...especially his mouth. 🙉 4y
Scochrane26 I use several of her books with my therapy kids, but they are a little too long, esp for my adhd kids. I usually skip over a couple of things. Most kids really love My Mouth is a Volcano—teachers also use that one a lot. 4y
LibrarianRyan @Scochrane26 I agree. All her books are overlong. 4y

On our walk today we snagged Diary by Chuck Palahniuk, & then found another Little Free Library a few blocks down from our destination. This one had some children‘s books, & my little granddaughter decided she wanted the brightest book of the bunch. Now, after her sister is born when she gets frustrated with her mom she can practice calming herself down with the ideas, & stories in Breathe Like A Bear.
Cute book! #childrensbook #copingskills

This RF book is about a young girl who suffers from anxiety. Throughout the book she discovers strategies she can use to manage her anxiety and still be successful in school. This book would be good for a dramatic reenactment. #UCFSU19

KDrake I love that this is a children's book that touches on the realistic subject of having anxiety/stress in school. Hopefully, this book could be used in a classroom to help students learn strategies to cope with and control their anxious feelings/behaviors. 5y
Bmelendez92 This is a real life thing! Again another book that talks about subjects that I couldn‘t even begin to break down to a primary level! Books like these are amazing to have because they speak volumes ! 5y
Kayladvazquez This looks like such a cute book. I feel this would be a great book to read around testing time to help students relax and find ways to cope with their anxiety. I agree this would be a great dramatic reenactment. I would love to see students perform and act it out. 5y
Lindseyraepalmx I wish I would have had this book when I was in school. This could be a great read for students struggling with the same issues. 5y
