pickThis was frustrating in not showing the full image of the garments, only closeups of whatever bit was under discussion (e.g. decoration or fastenings). This made it hard to picture how the garments were actually worn and what bit of the garment was being shown.
Buuut it's a fascinating overview of the V&A's collection of underwear, and various relevant aspects of underwear fashion.
I hate it when comments like this take me out of the story. Yes, tightlacing was popular during the time period of this story but it's not like it was the norm for everyone. If you've got a small chest you can make do with a camisole under your clothes and your back will be fine but trust me, not all of us have that luxury.
