panSaifedean Ammous is Professor of Economics at the Lebanese American University. This book has useful summaries of the history of money and the development of Bitcoin but his arguments as to how Bitcoin meets the definition of money are unconvincing - no matter how many times he repeats his points - and his Austrian school economic arguments about Bitcoin‘s superiority for settlement smacks of wishful thinking over the real world practicalities.

He gets the big payday, but now he is caught in the middle of two warring families. I haven‘t read a Doctorow since Little Brother, but I am glad to have him back on my TBR list. A 4⭐️pick for an intriguing premise and protagonist. Looking for the next.
I was fascinated by how this book explains how the design of everyday life suits tech companies at our expense.
