June reading wrap-up 🌈 This month, my main reading focus was on books featuring LGBTQIA+ authors and/or characters, while my secondary goal was to finish a few books I'd begun in previous months. I managed to finish 11 books, including 2 ARCs, and found a new 5⭐️ read from my top 10 2022 TBR stack.

Belatedly joining #20in4 after a crazy day at work and then joining my local Bans Off Our Bodies protest. I don't know if I'm going to be able to read much this weekend or if I'll have a hard time focusing, but figured I could give it a shot with my 5 current reads.

Cute contemporary romance great for fans of Top Chef and Love & Other Disasters. Sadie is a contestant on a cooking show who accidentally meets and kisses a man before realizing he's a new judge on the show. She's trying to find investors to open a restaurant focusing on new spins on traditional Jewish food, which as a Jewish person was really fun to read about (and made me wish she had a restaurant IRL!)

Finally giving Sarah MacLean a second chance! I read A Scot in the Dark several years ago when I was new to the genre and really disliked it, but since then I've found more historical romance authors that I do like. Really glad I picked this one up bc it's great so far! Might even be a new historical romance fave...🤔

Pickpick

A very sweet contemporary romance featuring estranged childhood best friends who reunite as adults when one turns out to be a friend's wedding planner, and realize that both still have feelings for each other. It's a return to the Seattle setting and friend group of Bellefleur's Written in the Stars, which I also loved. I received an eARC from the publisher via NetGalley. 4⭐️

This collection of 5 short stories and 1 novella is short (only 200 pages) and INCREDIBLE. So well-written, and packs intense emotional punches. The stories' themes focus on racism and use some uncommon perspectives (second person, first person collective). It's a book I honestly think everyone should read. 5⭐️!
