Pickpick

Eve & Andrew have been best friends forever, but at the start of 8th grade everyone around them suddenly decides they need to be girlfriend & boyfriend. Both really want to just stay friends, but now they don‘t know how to get back there.
Middle school relationships are frequently a mess, and this book covers pretty much all the ways. Yet, at its heart, it‘s about the importance of friendship and communication.

My #naughtylistholidayswap is being mailed tomorrow. I had a little too much fun with this one! I mean really, I think we need to better define “naughty.” 😂😂😂 For the recipient, everything is wrapped, so open the package when you get it and let the contents spill forth. There will be no spoilers unless you read the card. Don‘t read the card!! @TieDyeDude @WildAlaskaBibliophile Thanks for hosting!

While I DNF‘d this one it wasn‘t a bad book and will likely be surpassed.

DNF- The dialogue in the book between her and other characters was great. She got great advice and that advice could be helpful for a teen girl to think about if in the same situation. Then the MC ruins it by a self centered comment after she's away from the other character. I wasn't able to continue being in the mind of the MC, but the ending helps to show the consequences of actions made and a little prayer can go a long way.

“I had spotted it first….But I could see that Shawna wanted it too, so I just backed off and let her get it. Talk about self-sacrificing.”
Ugh, I‘m remembering why I took a break from this book. I get that the point is she gets jealous, but every interaction she has she thinks she‘s better than the other character. I think I‘m going to read the last chapter and call it a DNF. 🤦‍♀️
