The Overstory | Richard Powers
post image

I have needed to read The Overstory more slowly to fully appreciate its message and complexity. It‘s such an important story. As a lover of trees it‘s also heartbreaking.
I‘m sitting in front of our wood stove feeling sad about burning the logs. They are at least the off cuts from our pecan orchard ❤️🌲#literaryfiction #ecofiction

wanderinglynn I have read & also own quite a few of these. But what does the *** indicate? 7mo
monalyisha Wow! I‘ve read some of these (Moby Dick, Call of the Wild, Emerson, Thoreau, Mary Oliver, Prodigal Summer, The Road, The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating) — but not most of them! Any particularly lyrical titles you *especially* recommend? Top 5 from the list, maybe? 7mo
diovival Two from the list. Watership Down and The World Without Us. Both 👍 7mo

MrBook @wanderinglynn It indicates the title is part of a series 😁. @monalyisha Oh boy 😆, let me mull that over 🤗. 7mo
wanderinglynn Ah, that makes sense now. I should‘ve realize that. Great list BTW. 👍🏻👍🏻 Some I wouldn‘t have considered eco-writing, but they make sense. 7mo
