pickThis book was fantastic! It is a post-apocalyptic novel that takes place in an Anishinaabe community. It is a slow-burn, but from the very first page I could tell that there was something sinister lurking. This is a story of family and community, a story of self-reliance and a connection to the land, and a story of racism and the outcomes of colonialism. I love the author‘s inclusion of Ojibwe language as well!
