#folkieFriday Dave Van Ronk was a part the folk scene revival that was emerging in Greenwich Village in the late 1950s.His book is a wonderful look at living cheap to pursue your art.Something that seems nearly impossible today.The Coen Brothers movie , Inside Llewyn Davis ,was loosely based on this book.
Always the activist , he was 1 of 13 arrested during the Stonewall Riots, he was dining nearby, joined in when he saw what was going on.👍✊
I was busy over posting yesterday,so I will do my #folkiefriday on #Caturday .Jazz , Rock , Folk , Country,Bluegrass almost every type of guitar player longed for a Martin guitar made in Nazareth,Pa.They have a museum I long to go to.This book features famous musicians Martins , as in the case above with Woody ,the model , style , and vintage they owned and played.A large book I treasure full of great stories and beautiful guitars.

I resisted paying full price for this long lost Woody Guthrie novel published in 2013 .Snapped it up from the sale shelf at Barnes and Noble.Have I read it yet? Nope !
