I just found a list I made at the beginning of 2017 with the books I absolutely wanted to read this year (haven't yet read one of them oops) and the second book in the Song of Ice and Fire book was one of them (not pictured 🙈) I hope to get to it this Summer, because my brother finally finished it 🙌🏼 So I can finally get it back!

Maybe needless to say, but amazing writing skills. Martin keeps the reader glued to his books. Great story, ideal for you especially if magic, medieval times and knighthoods are your thing. Can't wait to read the other ones.
