Difficult to choose a favourite book for #January for #12Booksof2023, too many good ones to choose from.

Gone for this book in one of my favourite current crime series, which took DCI Logan and Tyler to a remote Scottish island and sone hilarious moments between them.

Notable mentions to Carrie Soto is Back, Blood and Treachery also in the DCI Logan series and Shaken in the Jack Daniels series by J A Konrath.

TheSpineView Love this series! 10mo
Andrew65 @TheSpineView Might not be the only month it‘s picked ❤️ 10mo
TheSpineView @Andrew65 You can't go wrong with it. BTW, if you sign up for Kirk's newsletter you get bonus material. He just started a Hoon comic strip that is only available in his newsletter. 10mo

I know I say this every time, but another great book in the series. This was a scary one for all involved. People killed, loved ones kidnapped. DC Tyler Neish recovering from surgery and then having to deal with trauma. Another crazy case for DCI Jack Logan and team. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

“DCI Logan is genuinely happy for the first time in years. He has almost fooled himself into believing that the world is a decent place. When the discovery of a mutilated body kicks off a series of grisly murders, his dream of a peaceful life rapidly begins to crumble. With friends in danger, and enemies begging for his help, Jack must risk everything to protect the final would-be victim, and stop the most monstrous killer he‘s ever faced.

Another great book in the series. Mr. Whisper has escaped and is leaving a trail of dead bodies in his wake. He‘s after DCI Logan and anyone close to him. Can he stop Mr. Whisper from kidnapping and killing everyone he‘s close to and loved? Is there a leak in the department? This is a very serious book that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering who is next on the list. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

I‘m really enjoying this series. The storylines are really great and, though they‘re police procedurals, there‘s a lot of dark humor (or just plain humor) that makes me laugh out loud. I really recommend this series if you‘re a fan of police procedurals, especially those set in Scotland. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

“Tormented by the recent loss of a colleague, DCI Jack Logan is on the warpath, determined to bring down all those he holds responsible for the officer's death. His quest for revenge is cut short when a woman's body turns up on a remote island and Jack is summoned to investigate. As a storm closes in, Jack is cut-off from the rest of the world, with no car, no phone signal, and only DC Neish for company.”

After the last book I read, I needed a palate cleanser. And what better palate cleanser is there than historical romance.

I enjoyed this one-the tale of two warring clans and of course the main couple is on either side of the feud.

Not much here that's new or exciting but it's solid and enjoyable. And sometimes that's exactly what you want from your book.
