pickWhenever I need a dose of hilarious Florida dysfunction, I usually turn to Carl Hiassen. Turns out Dave Barry is pretty well versed in "Florida" crazy. The amount of shenanigans and characters he aligns in this story amazes me. With all the action going on you might think characterization suffers,but he does this Ann Patchett thing where he gives a character one or two sentences that let you know precisely who they are. It was a good book.
