This was excellent! The depiction of high school friendships, dramas, and personal challenges and growth was so well done. Things aren‘t always fully resolved in the end but Searle does a great job showing that sometimes making small brave changes is more important than big heroic gestures. I love the zines the characters write that are interspersed throughout as well. Content note for self-harm and disordered eating.

Even though fairy tales aren‘t usually my jam, these wholesome stories offered cool twists to some of the fairy tale tropes, enough to make them enjoyable even for an adult. I love the queer elements and the art is great- cartoony at times, but lovely vibrant colors and even pastel shades, all done with colored pencils. Overall, a lovely book, but a low pick just because it wasn‘t my usual thing.
