This is one of my absolute favorite Superman origin stories (the other is ‘All Star Superman‘). Beautifully illustrated, this is the classic tale, with a few twists you might not expect. Seeing Christopher Reeves likeness is an added bonus.
Highly recommended!
Lex is my favorite Superman character. I think the TV show Smallville did the best job with him, seeing the person behind the villain. This one attempts to do the same, and on some levels, it works. Luther‘s concerns make sense. The concept is there. The execution lacks somewhat. Lex is still someone who uses people, and the justification to hurt doesn‘t always fit his character. The art of Superman from Lex‘s point of view is brilliant.
When Luthor's Amazo Virus is accidentally released in Metropolis, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Luthor race against time to find a cure before the rest of the Justice League succumbs.
After the events of Forever Evil, Lex Luthor enjoys the rush of being a hero so much that he convinces the Justice League to let him join. We also see how the Power Ring, a ring from another dimension that feeds on fear, claims Jessica Cruz, who will eventually become a Green Lantern.
In Forever Evil, the Legion of Doom has to save the world from an evil Justice League from an alternate earth. It's a really fun story with all your favorite DC villains.
Geoff Johns does a great job of presenting classic DC characters in a new light by showing how too much power robs the Justice League of humanity. Wonder Woman is the localized character and the source of sanity. Oh, and the battle between Darkseid and the Anti-Monitor is epic.

This is one of my favorite Superman graphic novels so far. It shows Superman's vulnerabilities, gives Lois Lane way more to do, and actually portrays Lex Luthor as a real villain instead of having him just kind of hanging around.

I haven't read many superhero comics, so I wasn't too familiar with the characters in this who don't have their own movies. I did enjoy this graphic novel, though, and found the villains just as complex and interesting as the heroes. I'm also glad that Wonder Woman was prominently featured. Also, this comic just added more weight to my opinion that Batman is just a rich asshole who doesn't really contribute in any positive way.
1 of 2.
Happy new #comics day everyone! I only have 3 issues from the big two this week. The Terrifics is a DC series from Jeff Lemire that I have been very excited for! Spinning out of the Dark Nights Metal books this looks like it 'could' be something special.
Also...Iron Man (meh) and Gotham City Garage which was just announced that its being cancelled in 3 issues and I'm kinda bummed about that cuz I really liked it. 😔
