June 5: Cardcaptor Sakura was one of the first #lgbtqbook(s) I found that was more than subtex. It's a beautiful story about a girl who discovers her own magic and figures out how to navigate this new part of herself in her everyday life. There are several #lgbtq characters. I remember Teenage me being so angry at the first #anime dub for trying to edit them out. #manga #lgbtmanga #fantasy #magicalgirl #pridemonth2020 #manga

I really enjoyed the art and the characters of this story. The author does a good job of building emotional suspense as well. I'm disappointed in how much of a role that rape plays in this. Consent is not even slightly part of the relationship these characters develope, as is often the case with #yaoi manga. #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtmanga #manga #lgbtcharacter #queermanga

I read this in high school and loved it. The art and story really appealed to me, and the characters are well developed. I also appreciate that there's some attention paid to consent in here, which is often ignored in the #yaoi genre. #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtmanga #queermanga #lgbtcharacter

Wandering son is a lovely exploration of discovering your transgender identity and finding out how it fits you. The book takes the perspective of two transgender middle schoolers as they come into puberty and find that life is becoming more complicated in extremely uncomfortable ways. There are some problematic aspects to this story, as is often the case. #transgender #lgbtq #lgbtmanga #transgendermanga #manga #queermanga #lgbtcharacter

This manga is based on a game, and is a fun read. It didn't feel well developed as a standalone piece, and I never played the game. I suspect that someone who has played the game or watched the anime (which also feels less developed than it could) will likely enjoy this one more. #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtmanga #manga #highschoolmanga #lgbtcharacter #queermanga

This is a fun read, especially if you're into music or guitars. You don't have to be, though. This manga also has a beautiful anime adaptation, but includes scenes that enhance the story that the anime does not include (yet). This may be a good pick for someone dealing with loss, but someone who may be upset by topics of suicide may want to hold off. #LGBTQ #LGBT #LGBTManga #music #suicide #grief #identityexploration #queermanga
