Obsessed! Yes, this book is about two very different sisters, but it‘s also intricate and layered with many more themes. I feel that many people can relate to Sigrid with today‘s current events. I teared up so much during the second half and felt empty yet hopeful after finishing it. That may not be selling the novel, but it really is a great read if you‘re open to facing hard subjects. I‘m a huge fan of dark and dry humor so this was great.

Reading this book was painful, but in the right way. It gave language to things I‘ve felt but couldn‘t explain. It helped me realize I wasn‘t broken or alone. There are stories in it that made me cry—because I saw myself in them. Jamison writes with such care and respect for every life, even the ones lost.

I think this book might have saved me a little, or at least made me feel like I was worth saving.

“Suicidal people often feel completely alone—even when they‘re surrounded by others. The desire for someone to see them, to understand them, is profound. And when that doesn‘t come, the silence can feel like a verdict.”

This book fits the definition of irreverent humor perfectly. If you are capable of having a sense of humor about suicide, it might work. I loved Emily Austin's other two books and their characters, but this felt a bit too much for me.

Quick, Predictable, and not an accurate description of an adolescent psychiatric floor (at least not one I worked on).

Ok I had to get into the trend! thanks @TheLudicReader ! I really thought I would get Red but it got edged out by orange… which is also accurate. I have not read any of the books they featured but want to read 3 of them and could easily be convinced to read the 4th 😂

Ruthiella Orange was my second highest rated category! 4mo
RaeLovesToRead I was orange! I think he's updated the quiz since though 🤔🤔🤔 4mo
