More world development was needed to keep me engaged. Young adult fantasy is one of my favorite genres and I was having trouble. I would have loved for Silvera to explain the different phoenixes and the history. I don't think I will continue the series. #QueerBC @PuddleJumper

It is technically Christmas here in the UK. Happy Christmas to everyone who celebrates!
I'm reading downstairs with the cats. I needed some alone time before I had a meltdown.
It's been a lot the last few days, I haven't had a break and a bunch of little things have gone wrong which then meant plans had to be changed and yeah, none of that is good!
Cat cuddles, lo-fi, and a fun book for another hour or so.
I hope everyone has an amazing day!

The writing for this was pretty good, and it was easy to read. But I can‘t say I really enjoyed it?
I didn‘t like Elio or Oliver. It was the obsession, shame, and very weird “intimacy” that seemed to be the over-riding theme throughout. I‘m not sure I would say it was romance between them…
Also much prefer when books have regular natural stopping points like chapters rather than parts or continual flow 🤣
This was my #FoodAndLit pick for #Italy

So I know it's pretty early in the day, but I fully intend to sit in PJs and read/relax all day, so this #jolabokaflodswap package is an amazing way to do that. Thank you @Jess861 for the incredibly yummy looking chocolate, the Casey Plett book (I have wanted this for so long!) and even a bonus book! You are so incredibly generous - I hope you have a wonderful Jolabokaflod today 🎄😊📚

Thank you, thank you, thank you @Yuki_Onna for all the chocolate and book - Lindt is my favourite and the nuts sound amazing. The book looks right up my alley too - I'm glad I stacked it 🤣😉

Inspired by the life of folk artist Mary Ann Wilson, this is considered the first lesbian historical romance, and it's a charmer. Patience, an educated woman from a prosperous family, and Sarah, brought up to be the “boy“ of her poor father's farm, fall in love and must navigate the barriers -- both societal and psychological -- that threaten to keep them apart. They alternately narrate their story and both voices are vivid and distinctive.

The whole time reading this book it felt like a strange kind of déjàva, and then last night it hit me. The Museum of Extraordinary Things by Alice Hoffman.
Combining that with the fact that I couldn't care less about any of the characters, I'm not even sure why I finished it.

Vivid. Gruesome. Erotic. Not for the faint of heart, but a thought provoking look at what could happen to trans women if cis women were battling beast-like men.

Thank you @TheBookHippie for always radiating the light.
The afterglow of today‘s sunrise.
