Immersed in the life of Stella, who was born in Ieovoli, a dirt poor mountain village in Calabria, Italy. The time is pre and post WWI, when many of these desperate & destitute villagers emigrate to the U.S. At some point Stella arrives in CT, where she still resides. Although based on the author‘s grandmother‘s story & well researched, the novel is fiction.
