Slow but steady progress with #SeriesLove2025 . This is book 2 in the 5 book series set in England during WWII.

Howard excels at writing interesting characters that are fully human, with all the good and the bad that comes with that. And her balance is impeccable as well with this exceptionally large cast of an extended family and their servants.

The UK/US covers are a little bland IMO, so I have included some of the foreign editions for fun.

TheSpineView Well done!🤩📖 3w

I‘m on the home front in Britain in 1940. The extended Cazalet clan has taken up permanent residence on the Sussex estate. Told mostly from the perspective of the third generation of the family teenagers Louise, Clarey, and Polly who experience the uncertainty of life during wartime while also navigating the transition from childhood to adulthood.

LeeRHarry Loved this series! 😊 4w
Ruthiella @LeeRHarry It is so good! It‘s been a couple years since I read the first one but it was so easy to pick right up again and immerse myself in the storylines and characters. 4w
BookNAround I loved this series so much. 3w
Ruthiella @BookNAround My picking it up was definitely a #blameitonlitsy occasion! 😅 3w

Busy weekend for me, but I do have all three on Kindle, so I might be able to squeeze a little in here and there on my phone. 🤞😬

My #Roll100 picks for April are pretty sweet. I already read Jazz back in February, so only have two “musts”.

Marking Time will work for #SeriesLove2025, as it‘s the second in the Cazalet Chronicles.

I own a physical copy of Little Bee and will make it work for #OffMyShelf

The 5th and last book in The Cazalet Chronicles. At the end of the vol 4 it was 1947, and when we meet them again it‘s 1956. A lot has happened in 9 yrs. I enjoyed being back with the family, but in this one there‘s a lot of endings. Some of these I anticipated others I didn‘t. We celebrate several Christmas‘ with the family which was why I read it now, I just wish we had left the family on a more uplifting note.

The 4th book about the Cazalets and the war is over. There‘s still food and clothing rations, so things takes time getting back to normal.

We follow more of the family in this installation and I enjoyed that.

The first half was my #BookSpin for October

The 3rd of the Cazalet Chronicles and we follow the family from March 1942 until the end of the war. And boy do a lot of things happen in the family. Several people are trying to find themselves and that ending. I did not expect that

The 2nd book about the Cazalet‘s and we jump forward a year as Britain declares war on Germany. Food rations and food cards are the new normal as is bombs being dropped and the Blitz in London, but at the same time life goes on. This book focuses more on three of the kids in their teens trying to find out what to do with their life. And even when you don‘t like them because they‘re so self centered there‘s something oddly familiar about that as

Ruthiella I definitely want to try to get back to this series this year! 11mo
AnneCecilie @Ruthiella I‘ve only read the first two so far, and enjoy the series so far. I got all five for Christmas and I‘m curious to find out what happens to family 11mo

I would do it just to find out what it was like. If you‘re interested in things, it doesn‘t matter too much if you turn out to be any good at them. It‘s doing it that‘s fun.

( talking about acting, but applicable to other hobbies too)
