The kids loved how this opened up a chance to talk about how loud things can be annoying (or scary). 2024 #WCCPBA nominee. We designed our perfect parties on the back of our coloring pages. Older students noted the literal devices such as onomatopoeia.

Nominated for the 2024 Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Award, I may read this early in the year to set the standard for how loud we should party in the library. The publisher includes an activity page with discussion guide and coloring book pages! Thank them for that. https://www.kidscanpress.com/Creators/kelly-collier/

Super cute book about how to party as an introvert. Snail slowly learns to value his own ideas of fun and yet soon discovers that even the best parties are better when you‘re not all alone.

#oppositeday #loud @Ruthiella has a high opinion of this Greene I haven‘t read , need to get to it.

Ruthiella I hope I haven‘t hyped it too high! 😬 It was the first Graham Greene I ever read. 4y
Leftcoastzen @Ruthiella I doubt you over hyped it , I‘m not sure I want to get pissed off about Vietnam again 4y
Ruthiella @Leftcoastzen It‘s an interesting book in that respect since it was written and published before any “official” US involvement. But Graham worked for the British Secret Service and clearly saw the writing on the wall. I read it when I was in my 20s and it made me sad. I should reread it now in my dotage. 4y
