Amazing. I highly recommend for fans of true crime & mental health. Dr Adshead is a forensic psychiatrist &works w/criminals. She introduces the idea of compassion & humanity, delving into the psychology & humanizing these patients that we often label as unredeemable.

It‘s a difficult read at times. I can‘t say I felt empathy or even sympathy for all of them; however, I learned a lot & gained a better understanding of those who commit crimes.

Kristy_K I have an older version of the book as the newer ones have a new subtitle, Stories of Human Cruelty and Compassion, which I felt suited it better. 1w

I find it absolutely fascinating that there are millions of little microbes living inside of us, that have such an impact on our wellbeing.

At the end of the book I realised that this information is almost a decade old, so I'm interested to see how things have changed since then.

If anyone has any suggestions on a more recent book, I'll appreciate suggestions.

I highly recommend this book to People with ADHD, people with children with ADHD, people who are curious about neurodivergence and ADHD, counselors, teachers, medical professionals, friends of people with ADHD, coaches…. It is fairly succinct. Informative. Strategy and Solution focused, validating and science based.
When I taught a special education class in CO I was very lucky- the principal let me use my methods- my way. One of the most

Chrissyreadit important things i did was start every day with a run/walk- kids who ran came with me, kids who walked with my side. The results of progress for my class were significant and acknowledged at the County level- with All kids benefit from movement and outside time when possible. My greatest moments of anxiety and depression- after days of limited mobility- If there is one thing i would change in our education system it would be more time for 10mo
Chrissyreadit movement- running, walking, yoga, dance, any movement at any level of ability. And stop putting learning into a one size fits all structure. We know emphatically it does not work. 10mo
