This one just didn‘t quite come together for me. Despite being called “The Sisters,” much of the book centers a male character who seems intrigued by them but not really associated with them, and it felt fragmented to me. I also felt like the narrative tense didn‘t quite work in a way that was believable. I never would have made it through in print.

#NBA longlist, fiction

If you enjoy books about sports, check this out. It tells the postseason story of the 2006 Phoenix Suns. I really enjoyed it.

Going into the book expecting to learn about the game of basketball and getting a book focusing on perserverance, relationships, and personal/spiritual growth is not what i was expecting. Phenomenal read

I found this fascinating. The focus is really on coaching, spiritual growth and team-building rather than basketball per se. Really enlightening

Fun read directed at niche audience obviously. I work in professional sports. Fascinated at how amateurish & seat-of-their-pants this league was even with mega talent players & coaches. Sports is just too engorged with money to ever be this raw & spontaneous again, unfortunately.

You don't have to be a basketball fan to appreciate how great of a read this book is. The story alone is compelling & Feinstein is a master of layering the narrative in this genre of books. One of my all-time favorites. In my literary HOF. Again like with Season on the Brink, I don't think one need be a basketball fan to enjoy.
